We all have a need to express ourselves, to leave our imprint in the world.
We do this daily in many ways both large and small. We assert ourselves in choosing what clothes we wear, how we style our hair, what radio station we listen to, how we like our coffee, in picking the green or the red sauce.
We express ourselves in the way we decorate our house, the music we select for our dinner party, what we do for fun in our spare time, where we go on vacation, what movies we love to talk about. The list is endless.
In all of this we’re telling the world who we are. Our friends and family come to know us by observing how we interact with life. And, we come to know ourselves – at least, we think we do.
But sometimes it’s not enough.
Often there’s more inside we want to say. We have thoughts and ideas we want to share. It can feel like an inner volcano, slowly simmering and bubbling beneath the surface. We long to get those ideas out. And as the internal pressure mounts, it becomes more urgent. We need to get those ideas out. We have to tell our story.
Does this resonate with you? Do you have an idea you want to share? Something blowing around inside that you can’t stop thinking about? It’s time to do something about that.
The process of expressing ourselves is an amazing journey. Our unique views can make others laugh, learn and feel inspired. This is fun and makes us feel good. But there’s more . . .
In exploring how to best present our ideas to others, we discover something precious – ourselves. We learn about who we are and our place in the world. We get to know ourselves better. We learn more about what makes us happy. And we radiate our creativity to others. Everyone wins.
So what do you have to say? The world is waiting to hear . . .
